Director Davis leads the Public Safety Academy, in charge of training law enforcement
and corrections officers as well as Advanced and Specialized Training for our six-county
region representing Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Madison, Suwanee, and Taylor Counties.
Building collaborative relationships and partnerships in the community, with local
and state law enforcement agencies, and other governmental organizations play and
important role of the Director.
He is a career law enforcement professional, having retired with over twenty-eight
years from the City of Madison Police Department, the last 15 years as Chief of Police,
with the mission and vision to take the department and its men and women officers
into the 21st century in training and technology. Chief Davis accomplished their mission
by applying the core values of the agency, which were Service, Partnership, Integrity,
Respect, Innovation, Trust. These core values were embedded in the agencies policies
and practices from patrol, investigations, and administration. This vision and mission
continues to be the guiding principals of leading the Public Safety Academy at North
Florida College.
