Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE)

Testing is by appointment only. Call the Testing Center at 850-973-9451 to schedule an appointment and pay testing fees by phone at 850-973-1610.

Students enrolling in certificate programs may be required to undergo a skill assessment process utilizing the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). The TABE assessment is conducted before enrollment or in the first six weeks of enrollment. For specific test score requirements, see program descriptions. The TABE can also be used to prepare adult students for taking the General Education Diploma (GED) test.

  • TABE testing is available at NFC several times each week.
  • Tests are given by appointment only.
  • The testing fee for the TABE is $10.00 and must be paid at the Business Office (Bldg. 2) prior to testing.
  • Bring your receipt and photo ID to the Testing Center, Building 16, fifteen (15) minutes prior to test time.
  • Please note limited seating is available; you must pre-register for each test.

  • Cost per TABE exam is $10
