Get the Collegiate Honors Experience Close to Home

The NFC Sentinel Honors Academic Program for Enrichment (SHAPE) is an exclusive curriculum track with limited seating for *eligible students.


Students accepted into SHAPE will engage in honors college classes, where they will experience:

  • Individualized attention and interaction with professors and access with professionals who understand the characteristics of excellence,
  • Courses designed for students to be active participants in their learning,
  • Partnership with professors throughout the educational process, and more.

SHAPE students will receive the following benefits:

  • Associate in Arts Degree with Honors (diploma and transcript designation),
  • Textbook scholarship for instructional materials in five honors courses,
  • Opportunities for cultural enrichment,
  • Campus and community engagement and volunteering service opportunities
  • Small cohort-style learning, and more.

*If you are a First-Time college student who meets the following criteria, NFC invites you to apply to SHAPE:

  • Must be an Associate in Arts Degree
  • Must meet one of the below criteria:
    • Have an unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and be "College Ready" in Reading, Writing, and Math (no developmental education courses needed), or
    • Have minimum PERT scores of 110 Reading,110 Writing, and 116 Math
