Live Oak Students Win NFC Foundation Scholarships
LIVE OAK, FL (July 13, 2022) – The NFC Foundation is pleased to announce Teresa Williams and Madison Ramsey as the lucky scholarship winners from the North Florida College Live Oak Open House. On June 25, NFC invited high school juniors and seniors, prospective students, and the community to visit the Live Oak center to meet faculty and staff, apply for admissions and financial aid, and enjoy entertainment and presentations. Students who attended the event were entered into a random drawing for a chance to win $1,000 and $500 scholarships from the NFC Foundation.
Teresa Williams, a 2020 graduate from Suwannee High School is the winner of the $1,000 scholarship. “I am very grateful for this opportunity and hope that one day I can pay it forward to help someone else,” said Williams. Teresa plans to become a certified teacher in Florida.
Madison Ramsey, a 2022 graduate of Suwannee High School is the winner of the $500 scholarship. “This scholarship has relieved stress from me and my family while I work and pay for college,” said Ramsey. Madison plans to pursue a career in the healthcare field and graduate with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from NFC.
Myra Brock, NFC Foundation Board of Directors member representing Suwannee County presented the scholarships awards. “It’s an honor to be a part of encouraging these students to seek higher education,” said Brock. “Their courage to prepare themselves for tomorrow is inspiring to me”.
