Paramedic Program Receives National Accreditation
MADISON, FL (Nov. 7, 2017) – The North Florida Community College Emergency Medical Services department’s Paramedic program is now nationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), the largest programmatic accreditor of the health sciences professions. The designation not only opens more doors for NFCC graduates, but also means that the NFCC Paramedic program is meeting or exceeding current National EMS Education Standards.
“We are proud to earn this national accreditation level for the College and our students,” said Mike Kirkland, Director of Emergency Medical Services Programs. “We have outstanding EMS instructors and this national accreditation further confirms that the quality instruction we offer to area students is at or above the national standard.”
NFCC Paramedic graduates are now eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic certification exam. The program’s national accreditation came after a thorough review by the Committee on Accreditation of Emergency Medical Services Programs (CoAEMSP) to ensure compliance with CAAHEP standards and guidelines.
A new Paramedic I class is scheduled to begin in August 2018 (Fall Term). For more information on the NFCC Paramedic program or other Emergency Medical Services programs at the College, contact Mike Kirland at 850-973-1673 or kirklandm@nfc.edu.
