NFC honors Myeshia Tucker and Emalee Morgan as Last Mile Scholars
MADISON, FL - The North Florida College Foundation is pleased to congratulate two Last Mile Scholars on their NFC graduations. Myeshia Tucker, Spring 2020 graduate, earned her Associate in Arts degree and is returning to NFC to complete courses in the Early Childhood Education program before pursuing her certificate in Practical Nursing (LPN). Emalee Morgan, upcoming Summer 2020 graduate, is completing her Associate in Arts degree and plans to pursue a certificate in NFC’s Medical Biller/Coder Program in the Fall 2020 semester.
Myeshia and Emalee returned to NFC in the Spring of 2020 as part of the NFC Last Mile Program. The Last Mile Program assists students who are 12 credit hours or less from completing their degree and have been unenrolled for at least one semester. The initiative encourages students to complete their remaining credits, receive their diploma, and finish their “last mile” at NFC.
“Thank you all so much,” said Myeshia. “If it had not been for you [NFC scholarship donors], I probably would not have come back to school.”
Myeshia and Emalee visited the NFC Foundation office to celebrate their accomplishments with NFC Foundation staff and board members and were presented with Last Mile t-shirts.
“Myeshia and Emalee are to be congratulated for their hard work and fortitude to complete their educational journey at North Florida College,” said Judy Lundell, Director of Resource Development.
