ACCUPLACER

The ACCUPLACER is an academic placement test. The ACCUPLACER is given at NFC several times each week. Tests are given by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call the Testing Center at 850-973-9451 and pay testing fees by phone at 850-973-1610.

Students entering degree or college credit certificate programs, or any level of English, math, or reading courses may be required to take a placement test before registering. ACCUPLACER, ACT, SAT, and PERT are accepted placement tests. Test scores are valid for two years.

Exemption from Placement Testing - 1008.30 Common placement testing for public postsecondary education (4)(a) A student who entered 9th grade in a Florida public school in the 2003-2004 school year, or any year thereafter, and earned a Florida standard high school diploma or a student who is serving as an active duty member of any branch of the United States Armed Services shall not be required to take the common placement test and shall not be required to enroll in developmental education instruction in a Florida College System institution. However, a student who is not required to take the common placement test and is not required to enroll in developmental education under this paragraph may opt to be assessed and to enroll in developmental education instruction, and the college shall provide such assessment and instruction upon the student’s request.

ACCUPLACER Information:

  • ACCUPLACER testing is by appointment only and available at our Madison, Live Oak, and Perry locations.
    • Madison Testing Center: 850-973-9451
    • Live Oak Location: 386-364-5093
    • Perry Location: 850-973-9499
  • The testing fee is $10 for students who are enrolled or plan to enroll at NFC and $35 for all other purposes.
    • Fees must be paid prior to testing.
    • Call the Business Office at (850) 973-1610 or pay in Building #2.
  • A government issued photo I.D. and payment receipt are required.
  • Calculators are not permitted.
  • Testing will begin promptly at the designated time. Late arrivals may not be allowed to test.
  • Test results will be available to you immediately.
  • Test results will not be given out over the phone.

Retesting Limits

Maximum of two attempts prior to registering in classes. Minimum of 24 hours prior to retesting. Students will be allowed a third attempt on the ACCUPLACER after their initial test scores have expired.

Maximum of two attempts per semester. Students should receive remediation from their high school or home school instructor(s) prior to retesting. Minimum of two weeks prior to a second attempt.

Maximum of three attempts per semester. The student's high school must provide documentation stating that the test is for EOC purposes. Minimum of 24 hours prior to retesting.

Cost:

  • Cost per ACCUPLACER testing session is $10 for NFC students
  • Cost per ACCUPLACER testing session is $35 all other purposes

Please NOTE: Limited seating is available; you must schedule an appointment for your test. You must also meet the requirements of the ACCUPLACER testing policy for North Florida College in order to take the exam. NO EXCEPTIONS
