Florida College System Foundation Contributes $26,362 to NFC Student Scholarships

MADISON, FL (October 21, 2022) – The North Florida College Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Florida College System Foundation (FCSF) has contributed $26,362 for North Florida College student scholarships.

The FCSF funding supports three different scholarship programs designed to assist college students:

Bank of America “Dream Makers Scholarship” – scholarships are awarded to first-generation in college students enrolled at NFC (students whose parents did not attend college).

Florida Blue Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship – scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in NFC Nursing and Allied Health programs.

Helios Education Foundation First Generation Scholarship – scholarships are awarded to first-generation in college students enrolled at NFC (students whose parents did not attend college). Preference is given to students who are preparing for a career in education and plan to teach in the State of Florida.

Suwanee County resident Neida Vences is a 2022 recipient of the Helios Education Foundation First Generation Scholarship. “As a first-generation student, I am extremely grateful for this opportunity that allows me to pursue a college degree while still providing for my family,” said Vences.

Traci McClung, Director of Resource Development at NFC is enthusiastic about the impact of the funding. “These scholarship dollars are incredibly important to our local students. They fuel dreams for higher education and have a direct impact on our communities as qualified graduates become ready for the workforce.”

While many students feel challenged in college, the NFC Foundation works to ensure that funding is not one of those challenges. There are many scholarships available each semester that help students take the next step towards the dream.

The deadline to apply for a spring term scholarship is November 11, 2022. Visit www.nfc.edu/foundation-giving/scholarships to complete the online application today. For more information, contact the NFC Foundation at 850-973-9414 or Foundation@nfc.edu.
