North Florida College hosts grand opening July 11 for new Live Oak location

ALL INVITED: Opening event, 3-7 p.m.; Ribbon cutting with Chamber 5:30 p.m.

LIVE OAK, FL - North Florida College invites the community to help celebrate the opening of its new location in Live Oak. The new location officially opened at 210 Ohio Avenue North on Monday, July 8, with an open house celebration scheduled for Thursday, July 11 from 3-7 p.m. All are invited to attend the grand opening celebration. Refreshments will be served from 4-6 p.m. and the Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce will help welcome the new location to Live Oak with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.

Guests and potential students attending the open house July 11 will have the opportunity to win prizes, including a backpack loaded with school supplies, a $200 book scholarship, a pair of 2019-2020 NFC Artist Series season passes, a hunter’s dream basket, scholarships toward a tuition-free course at the Live Oak location, and the grand prize of one full NFC tuition scholarship for an Associate in Arts degree for a Suwannee County resident. All scholarships awarded as part of the opening celebration must be used within one year of the drawing.

Summer hours for the North Florida College Live Oak location are Monday-Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 1-5 p.m. All are invited to stop in and find out more about the college, classes offered in Live Oak, and how to get started with enrollment, financial aid and registering for classes. Enrollment, financial aid and academic advising assistance is available each day in Live Oak, however additional advisors and enrollment specialists will be on location every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

North Florida College courses offered in Live Oak this fall include College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Freshman English I and a free Strategies in Student Success class. As an extra bonus, the regular $20 NFC admission application fee will be waived for anyone completing an application for admission in Live Oak during the month of July.
