NFC named “2022 Great College to Work For”

MADISON, FL (October 20, 2022) – North Florida College has again been named one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the Great Colleges to Work For® program.

The 2022 results, released in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based onNFC Great College to Work For employee picture a survey of 212 colleges and universities across the U.S. In all, 68 of the institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies.

NFC won honors in five categories this year:

  • Faculty Experience
  • Faculty and Staff Well-being
  • Shared Governance
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness

“I have always considered NFC a great place to work, and it is great to know that our faculty and staff feel the same,” said NFC President John Grosskopf. “Providing a positive, supportive and rewarding work environment is essential to ensuring NFC employees feel valued and in return provide the best services and opportunities to our students. We are so proud to stand out as one of the best colleges to work for in Florida and the nation.”

The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process:, an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.

“The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
