NFC Jumps to No. 2 in Top Public Schools – Regional Colleges South, U.S. News & World Report
MADISON, FL (October 12, 2023) – North Florida College is among the nation’s best colleges, according to the 2024 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report (U.S. News). Among the highly sought-after report released on September 18, NFC earned multiple spots on the list of 2024 Best Colleges, including Regional Colleges South #13, Top Public Schools – Regional Colleges South #2, and Social Mobility Regional Colleges South #6.
U.S. News Best Colleges ranking methodology uses a variety of metrics to determine the overall quality of each institution. It evaluates measures reflecting academic quality and graduate outcomes, campus culture, strength in specific programs and degrees, and financial aid offered.
“We are in this business for the students,” said NFC President, John Grosskopf. “Our mission is to place them at the forefront of every strategic decision we make. This ranking reflects our efforts to support, encourage, and prepare NFC students to take the next step towards continuing their education or entering the workforce.”
The 2024 U.S. News Best College report marks its 39th edition, where this year’s rankings formula dropped five longstanding factors, increased emphasis on how often schools’ students from all socioeconomic backgrounds earned a degree, and took advantage of information on graduate outcomes that was not available until recently. The report evaluated over 1,500 institutions on as many as 19 measures.
“NFC students are the only metric we focus on,” said NFC Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, Jennifer Page. “Each facet of NFC establishes a strong foundation for our students, so they successfully complete their academic or career goals. We are thrilled to receive this ranking, as it showcases our efforts toward students. They are our priority.”
Additional Rankings
For the 2023 reporting year, NFC held the number two spot for Best Two-Year College in Florida and ranked 19th Best Community College in America by Niche.com. The rankings from Niche.com are based on assessment of academic programs, admissions, financial, and student life data pulled from the U.S. Department of Education in addition to millions of reviews from students and alumni.
