NFCC Accepting Applications for NEW Medical Coder/Biller Program

North Florida Community College is currently accepting applications for its NEW Medical Coder/Biller certificate program. Deadline to apply to the program is November 18, 2016; classes begin January 4, 2017.

NFCC’s Medical Coder/Biller program is a comprehensive PSAV Certificate program that can be completed within two semesters or one year; financial aid assistance may be available for eligible applicants.

Students accepted into the program will receive valuable training to enter the workforce as trained medical coding and billing professionals specializing in coding patients’ medical information for billing purposes in a variety of settings such as hospitals, physicians’ offices, medical clinics, nursing homes and insurance companies.

“Medical coding/billing is one of the fastest growing careers in the healthcare field,” said Program Coordinator Takiyah Mitchell. “With the transitioning of ICD-10 now is the time to take advantage of this opportunity and become a Certified Coder/Biller.”

Successful completion of NFCC’s Medical Coder/Biller program paves the way for students to earn national certification through the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Certified and knowledgeable medical coder/billers are in high demand due to new legislation regarding medical coding/billing practices, so now is the time to take care of the application, testing and program entrance requirements for Spring Term 2017.
