"One-Act Extravaganza"; by Local Playwrights
Sentinel Upstage Players present four one-act plays April 6-8 at NFCC's Van H. Priest Auditorium
MADISON, FL Local talent abounds in four original one-act plays written, produced and performed by the North Florida Community College community. NFCC employees and alumni drafted the original works and local actors are bringing these original plays to life on the NFCC Van H. Priest Auditorium stage Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 8 at 11 a.m. Each “One-Act Extravaganza” showing features four, one-act productions, so stop in and enjoy a variety of entertainment. Admission is just $6 and supports our local arts and community.
Four original, one-act plays will be featured at each show time.
“Super School” by Johnathan Cooks (Madison County) - What happens when the world's greatest superheroes lose their powers and the fate of the world falls into the hands of everyday students? Join us in this family friendly adventure as we fly up, up and away towards the Stars! Johnathan Cooks is an NFCC alumnus and Multimedia and Public Relations Manager at NFCC. He has written and produced several plays, assists with lights and sound at Sentinel Upstage Player productions and has starred in a variety of NFCC and regional productions.
“Fate” by Della Webb (Madison County) - End the evening with a strong and powerful drama that will have the audience wondering if our fates really are locked within the Stars after all. (PG-13). Della Webb is an NFCC alumna and works in NFCC’s Disability Resource Center. She is a veteran on the NFCC stage and assists with NFCC Sentinel Upstage Player productions.
“Awkward Liaisons” by Christian Wigglesworth (Taylor County) - This outrageous and relatable teen comedy chronicles the inner battle between head and heart during young love. Get ready to laugh and smile as we take you inside what it's like to have more than just stars in your eyes. Christian Wigglesworth is an NFCC alumna and Staff Assistant for the NFCC Career and Technical Education Center. She is a regular on the NFCC stage.
“Happily Eva After” by Rachel Sullivan (Hamilton County) - Join us for a heartwarming romantic comedy musical that tells the story of the ups and down of friendship, romance and growing up, giving new meaning to "Star Crossed" love. Rachel Sullivan is an alumna of NFCC and works at the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch in Live Oak. This is Sullivan’s second original production and she regularly stars in NFCC productions.

As a special treat and thank you to the community, the NFCC Sentinel Upstage Players are offering “GET IN FREE” opportunities to students and educators with school ID. All students get in free on Thursday, April 6 and all educators with school ID get in free Friday, April 7. Shows begin at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Saturday’s performance is a matinee and begins at 11 a.m.
