Dual Enrolled Student Spotlight of the Month – Trinity James

MADISON, FL – North Florida College offers a Dual Enrollment program that allows students to earn college credits while still in high school and at no cost. The NFC Office of Dual Enrollment is proud to feature outstanding Sentinels who are nominated by their respective high school guidance counselors. For March, NFC spotlights Trinity James from Jefferson County K-12 School. She took a moment in between her high school and NFC commitments to respond to our interview:

Why did you choose to dual enroll at NFC?

I chose to dual enroll at NFC because it offers an exceptional opportunity to achieve a head start on my college education. The online classes offer a great learning environment with the best support and help from teachers and staff via email or in person.

Which class have you enjoyed the most at NFC?

I would have to say the class I enjoyed most at NFC would be General Humanities. This class helped me dive into different peoples’ perspectives and morals. To further explain, this class was very opinion-based and allowed us all to freely state our opinions on certain topics with no further backlash or arguments.

How is NFC helping you reach your goals?

NFC helps me reach my goals by offering great learning resources and education that I need to further my career. There are always teachers or student mentors readily available to help in any situation, educational or personal. NFC has taught me better time management on what I can do to achieve my goals quicker. The style of teaching motivated me to do my best and not stress too much about the work.

What are your goals after high school?

My goal after high school would be to get my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Once that is achieved, I would love to start up and own a cafe as this has always been a dream of mine. To further my career, I would also like to become a financial advisor. This allows for more career growth as well as the satisfaction of helping others achieve their own financial goals

Who at NFC has inspired you the most?
Michelle Wheeler has inspired me the most, her personal finance classes offer plans for securing your financial future which will allow me to achieve my goals in life. When planning for my financial future in her class, it motivated me to do my best to achieve more than just my financial goals. Her class allowed me to have a set plan on what I want to do with my life and how I will do it.
