As we embark on the search for the next President of North Florida College, the District Board of Trustees has come together to define the qualities and attributes essential for guiding our institution into the future. - Visionary Leadership: The ideal candidate will possess a clear and compelling vision for the future of North Florida College. They will be able to articulate and implement strategies that align with our mission and goals, driving innovation and growth within the counties that we serve.

- Board of Trustees Relations: Building and maintaining a strong, productive relationship with the Board of Trustees is essential for the effective governance of our institution. Through proactive engagement and strategic advocacy, they should strive to position the College as a leader in the Florida College System.
- Effective Communication: Effective communication is at the heart of successful leadership. The ideal candidate should be committed to maintaining open, transparent, and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. By actively listening and fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, they should aim to build a culture of trust and collaboration. Their goal should be to ensure that all voices are heard and that our college community is well-informed and engaged in our collective mission.
- Community Engagement: A strong commitment to building and maintaining relationships with the local community, industry partners, and other stakeholders is essential. The president should be an advocate for the College, working to build relationships with all six of our counties by understanding the unique needs of each county. The president must have a thorough understanding of the unique attributes and challenges of the College in relation to its location in largely agricultural, rural and fiscally restrained counties. The president must be a visible presence and willing to live in one of the counties comprising the College service area as his or her primary (homesteaded) residence.
- Innovative Thinking: In an ever-changing educational landscape, the ability to think creatively and embrace new technologies and methodologies is crucial. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and open to exploring new approaches to education and administration.
- Collaborative Leadership: We value a leader who can work collaboratively with all members of the College’s community. The president should be approachable, transparent, and skilled in fostering teamwork and shared governance. The president should embody the phrase “Sentinels stand together” and continue to foster the family-like culture at North Florida College.
- Financial Acumen: The new president must have a strong understanding of financial management and resource allocation. They should be capable of ensuring the College's financial stability and sustainability while pursuing opportunities for growth and development.
- Ethical Integrity: Above all, the president must demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and integrity. They should conduct themselves with full transparency and should be a role model for the entire College community, upholding our values and principles.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the college.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence and innovation.

- Oversee the college's financial and operational management.
- Advocate for the college at local, state, and national levels.
Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate from an accredited institution is preferred. A master’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
- At least four (4) years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility in higher education leadership or a related field.
- Current knowledge of the Florida College System in regard to finance, educational and facility planning, fund raising, organizational management, and curriculum and instructional programs; including transfer and Career and Workforce Education programs.
- Ability to successfully interact with legislators and education officials in state government to benefit North Florida College.
- A proven track record of successful administration and management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements for post-secondary educational institutions.
- Possess understanding of unique issues facing small and rural counties, their students and employees.
- Desire to commit to the North Florida College service area.
- Willingness to live in the North Florida College service area as primary (homesteaded) residence and participate in activities occurring in North Florida College service area.
- Ability to direct fundraising for the benefit of North Florida College.
- The ability to inspire and lead a dedicated team of faculty and staff.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
