Faculty Evaluation Procedure
Full Time Faculty will be evaluated yearly through a portfolio process.
- Full Time Faculty must prove through a narrative and evidence their Teaching, Professional Development, and Service to North Florida College.
- The faculty member’s narrative and evidence must be uploaded by the due date given
by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs onto the learning management system.
- Specific directions are provided via email.
- Each department chair will evaluate their department faculty’s narrative and score the evidence provided on the learning management system.
- Full Time Faculty must meet with their department chair to discuss their narrative and evidence and sign the narrative, agreeing to the evaluation.
- Once the department chair has completed all evaluations of their department’s faculty, he or she will submit signed evaluations to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
- The Associate Dean of Academic Affairs reviews the evaluations and submits the results
to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs to review and sign.
- If concerns arise, a meeting is arranged to discuss the results with the faculty member and department chair.
- If no concerns are evident, the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs signs the evaluation and records the evaluation in an online confidential folder.
Part time faculty are evaluated by their department chair.
- Department chairs are responsible for training their adjuncts on how to effectively use the online evaluation rubric. The online rubric serves as a guideline for instructors on how to create and manage their online courses.
- Adjunct faculty who only teach online will be evaluated using the online evaluation rubric each academic year. If the department chair sees reason to evaluate more often, he or she may do so at their discretion or at the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs’ request.
