MADISON, FL – North Florida College honored its Fall 2025 graduates during its commencement ceremony held Dec. 11 at Van H. Priest Auditorium. Family, friends, faculty, staff and community leaders gathered at 5 p.m. to celebrate students completing bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees and workforce certificates.

President Dr. Jennifer Page welcomed guests and delivered opening remarks before introducing the evening’s keynote speaker, Dr. Ashley Yopp Meros, Chancellor of Career and Adult Education with the Florida Department of Education. Dr. Meros shared a message focused on opportunity, persistence and the power of education to strengthen communities across Florida.

The ceremony began with a processional performed by Mrs. Caitlin Parizek, followed by the invocation from Reverend Delvin Boatman and the National Anthem performed by Madison Hallmark. Marshals representing NFC faculty, staff and students guided graduates throughout the program.

Degrees and Certificates Awarded

Dean of Workforce and Economic Initiatives and Chief Academic Officer David Dunkle presented candidates for degrees and certificates. Graduates completed programs across NFC’s academic and workforce areas including the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and a wide range of Florida workforce certificates. Honor graduates were recognized with white, silver or gold cords signifying Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude academic distinction. Veterans and servicemembers were acknowledged with a red, white and blue cord in recognition of their service.

Board Chair Ricky N. Lyons joined Dr. Page in presenting degrees and certificates, followed by the official conferral of honors by Mrs. Lynn Wyche, Dean of Enrollment and Student Services.

Community Support and Celebration

Following the ceremony, graduates and guests were invited to enjoy refreshments on the auditorium porch. NFC also thanked its 2025 Grad Fest sponsors for their support of student success including Madison County Community Bank, J+J Strong, Busy Bee, Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Wild Adventures Theme Park and Sniffen & Spellman, P.A.

A Milestone Moment for NFC Students

Dr. Page commended the graduates for their commitment to completing their programs while balancing work, family and community responsibilities.

“These students have demonstrated determination and heart,” said Dr. Page. “North Florida College is proud to celebrate their accomplishments and to support their next steps whether they enter the workforce, continue their education or begin new careers here at home.”
