Dual Enrolled Student Spotlight of the Month – Zoe Elam
MADISON, FL – North Florida College offers a Dual Enrollment program that allows students to earn college credits while still in high school and at no cost. The NFC Office of Dual Enrollment is proud to feature outstanding Sentinels who are nominated by their respective high school guidance counselors. For January, NFC spotlights Zoe Elam from Lafayette High School. She took a moment in between her high school and NFC commitments to respond to our interview:
Why did you choose to dual enroll at NFC?
I wanted to further my learning and earn as much of my Associate in Arts Degree (AA) as I could while in high school.
Which class have you enjoyed the most at NFC?
Introduction to Statistics.
How is NFC helping you reach your goals?
I am able to earn almost all 60 required credits of my AA and take classes to find out what career I want to pursue.
What are your goals after high school?
Attend UF and eventually earn my medical doctorate degree with a specialty in oncology.
NFC offers dual enrollment to students in Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Madison, Suwannee, and Taylor counties. A new dual enrollment student is featured each month and previous recipients can be found on NFC’s website here: https://www.nfc.edu/academics/dual-enrollment/student-of-the-month.php
