Honors Convocation Honors Outstanding Students
MADISON, FL (April 23, 2020) – North Florida College (NFC) honored over 30 students
for outstanding achievement and character during the 2019-2020 academic year during
a virtual Honors Convocation ceremony shared April 23. Despite the inability to hold
the ceremony on campus this year, NFC administrators, faculty and staff, as well as
students, worked together to make this year’s ceremony a special virtual event full
of videos, photos and accomplishment. In his welcoming remarks, delivered via video,
NFC President John Grosskopf invited viewers to “join us in the same spirit of pride
and celebration virtually” to honor this year’s outstanding students.
“This celebration is a terrific moment of pride for us here at the College,” said NFC President John Grosskopf. “Here we will be introducing you to the very best in scholastic excellence and service among our students. Make an effort to remember the names you hear during this event, because I am certain you will hear them again someday connected to impressive accomplishments and contributions to our society.”
NFC instructors provided remarks and videos highlighting each student and award. Students, unaware of the specific recognition awarded until the ceremony’s release, submitted photos and information to share about themselves and their educational journey. NFC awarded at total of 36 Outstanding Student Awards in various academic and student leadership areas. Jackson Dawson of Lafayette County received NFC’s prestigious Student of the Year award.
