North Florida Community College Inaugurates Seven Officers onto SGA Executive Board

NFCC Honors 2018 Student Government Association

MADISON, FL - North Florida Community College honored its Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Board for outstanding service and leadership on March 6 during the 2018 SGA Inauguration of Officers ceremony in the NFCC Student Center. Seven student leaders were introduced and recognized for their role in the organization by SGA Advisor Denise Bell and presented ceremonial pins by NFCC Dean of Enrollment Services Kay Hogan. NFCC Coordinator of Library Services Ellie Morgan was the guest speaker.

Members of the SGA Executive Board are President Kollin Blanco of Suwannee County, Vice President for Promotions Diana Carrier of Suwannee County, Vice President for Campus Relations and Activities Justin DeRocco of Hamilton County, Natalie Vasquez of Madison County and Secretary John Paul Carter of Suwannee County. SGA Senators at Large are Rebecca Grosskopf of Madison County and Chelsea Croft of Suwannee County.

During the inauguration, SGA Senator at Large Chelsea Croft read the SGA Mission, "Members of the Student Government Association are connected through their vision to protect, serve, and unite to enhance the Sentinel experience." It is the mission of SGA to revive the Sentinel experience of every student at NFCC through civic engagement and awareness, service and campus activities.

"Great leaders don't set out to be a leader. They set out to make a difference. Its' never about the role, always about the goal!" said Guest Speaker Ellie Morgan quoting leadership and life coach Lisa Haisha.

The ceremony was concluded with some inspiring words and thanks from SGA President Kollin Blanco. "I'm really looking forward to the year we're going to have and I'm sure its going to be great, so far it has," said Blanco. "I'm very proud of each and every one of you."
