MADISON, Fla. — North Florida College will bring education, industry and opportunity together during Workforce Wednesday: Built for the Future Expo and Job Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the NFC Student Center Quad. The event is open to NFC students and community members.
Workforce Wednesday is designed to connect participants with the resources, programs and people who can help them take the next step toward their future, whether that means beginning a career, building new skills, continuing their education or exploring a new opportunity.
The Job Fair will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., featuring community employers and industry partners with information about career opportunities and the skills employers are seeking in today’s workforce.
From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the Built for the Future Expo will expand the experience with NFC workforce programs, transfer pathways, career resources, industry partners and student support services. Attendees are invited to explore opportunities, make connections and enjoy a picnic lunch on the quad.
“Workforce Wednesday is about creating connections that can lead to real opportunities,” said Melanie Morgan, NFC Director of Student and Community Engagement. “We want our students and members of our community to be able to come to campus, sit down with employers and NFC representatives, ask questions and discover what their next step could look like. Whether someone is preparing for their first career or looking for a new direction, there is a place for them here.”
Hosted by NFC Student Life, Career & Workforce Education, Career & Transfer Center and Career Source North Florida. Workforce Wednesday highlights the College’s role in supporting individuals from education to employment while strengthening connections among students, employers and the communities NFC serves.
“Workforce Wednesday gives students and community members an opportunity to see how education connects directly to careers,” said Snowey Hagan, Coordinator of Career and Transfer Center. “By bringing our workforce programs and local employers together in one place, we can help people explore their options, build valuable connections and better understand the skills and training that can lead to meaningful employment right here in our region.”
Workforce Wednesday reflects NFC’s commitment to building a strong regional workforce by connecting education and training with the needs of local employers and the communities the College serves.
