Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Reporting
Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students
In accordance with reporting requirements by the US Department of Education, the following information is provided to describe the use of funds distributed to North Florida College (College) under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs. This information will be updated quarterly.
- As required by the CARES Act, in May 2020, North Florida College signed and returned
to the Department the Certification and Agreement. The CRRSAA and ARP grant funds
were received as supplements to that certification and agreement and by drawing down
the funds, NFC agreed to the supplemental assurance that the institution has used
the applicable amount of funds designated under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4)
programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
- North Florida College has received (was awarded) $1,695,471 from the Department pursuant
to the institution's supplemental Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial
Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs.
- North Florida College distributed $745,015.18 of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to
students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs during the quarter ending
March 31, 2022. North Florida College distributed $1,705,086.47 in total CRRSAA and
ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) program funds as of March 31, 2022.
- For the Spring 2022 semester, there were approximately 763 students eligible to receive
Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4)
programs, using the criteria established for this semester.
- For the quarter ending March 31, 2022, 622 students received an Emergency Financial
Aid Grant to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs. 1,581 Emergency
Financial Aid Grants have been awarded to students by NFC under the CRRSAA and ARP
(a)(1) and (a)(4) program funds as of March 31, 2022.
- For the Spring 2022 semester, to determine which students received Emergency Financial
Aid Grants and how much they would receive under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4)
programs, North Florida College used the following methodology:
- To be eligible, students must have been a degree or certificate-seeking student.
- The amounts of the Emergency Financial Aid Grants were tiered based on individual
socioeconomic circumstances, as documented by the student’s Expected Family Contribution
(EFC) on the FAFSA, as follows:
- EFC $0-$6239: $160 per credit hour
- EFC $6,240 and above: $101.80 per credit hour
- Tuition and approved program fees for Medical Information Coder/Biller and the rapid credential programs such as EMT, Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology, CDL, etc.; amounts vary.
