Faculty Committee Procedure

North Florida College (NFC) Full Time Faculty are required to actively participate in two faculty committees each academic year.
Adjunct faculty may participate as time allows, but are not required.

Full time faculty can serve on the same committee for a maximum of 3 years.
After three years, he or she must serve on another committee.
Committee members must rotate as chair of the committees.
No faculty member can serve longer than 2 consecutive years as chairperson.
Committees must meet twice a semester, at least one meeting in a face-to-face setting.

Committees must create goals for the academic year.  The chair of the committee will send the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs the goals of the committee, how the committee will meet the goals, and the results of the committee’s work each semester.

Committee work may be reported as Service to NFC in the faculty evaluation process.

If a full-time faculty member would like to change committees, he or she can request the change in writing to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

If a committee believes the goal of the committee has been accomplished and there are no further actions for the committee to complete, the chair must notify the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the next plan of action.
